DID YOU KNOW
There is a tarmac tennis court in Widecombe available for use all year round.
Not only is this a fantastic facility to have but it is also floodlit (at no extra charge) which means it can be used up until 10pm every day.
The court has lines for various sports including tennis, netball, hockey & five a side football.
There are goal posts which can be used for Hockey & Football and also netball posts.
There is a storage shed for equipment with access to keys and lights etc. and there are changing facilities and toilets available.
The sports group area also has adjacent free parking making it a convenient place to either make use of the facility or plan your activity from for example a run or cycle ride.
There is also a small pavilion (with electricity) for shelter or to provide refreshments from.
The pavilion and/or tennis court can also be booked for social events so please contact a committee member for more information.
Within the grounds there is a small children's play area (inspected every year by ROSPA) and a Boules area which is available all year round.
How do I become a member?

For people running a business such as a Bed & Breakfast or Holiday cottage you can buy a family membership which entitles your guests to use the court while staying with you.
How does it work?
Once you are signed up as a member you receive a door code which lets you into the storage shed where the keys are kept to unlock the court, toilets and pavilion. When you finish with them you simply return the keys to their hooks and if using the court please pay your fee into the envelopes which are available in the shed and post them through the letterbox slit on the interior door of the shed. If you are a new member one of the committee can arrange to meet you at the facility to show you round, please ask.
